  • "My thoughts are mixed for this vehicle. It has held up remarkably even though I have had to replace warn parts but that is to be expected and it does have an issue with eating oil once it has a lot of mileage on it but the forums can explain how to alleviate that. The Bose speakers are great but I replaced the radio twice because of the CD player not working. It is not something that can be easily replaced with aftermarket materials. It is an older vehicle so you can't expect it to have Bluetooth or other technology features but for its time, it had good technology. It is fun to drive but be warned, learn to do some of your own maintenance. Replacing the rear spark plugs is not easy due to the design of the engine so be prepared to pay for labor since you will need to remove the head on the throttle body. I have made some major repairs so I am still rolling in my Maxima after 12 years. I am quite impressed by the engine considering that it is maintaining the same fuel economy after all of these years 21/26 mpg which is the same for some of the newer cars out today. It is a good purchase overall."

  • "The car is a lot of fun to drive, and has so far (12 years later) proved to be very reliable. My biggest disappointment is in the Bose sound system. The 6 disc player broke once under warranty, was replaced, then broke again right after the warranty expired. I haven't been able to use it since, and it was before they included the AUX in ports, so I have to use a cassette adapter for my iPod."
