Question: Turn Signal Indicator doesn't make clicking sound after it Rains

I have about 65,000 miles on a 2007 Cobalt and for the last two weeks I've had an issue that if it rains or if there is a considerable amount of Dew on the ground my turn signal does not make a clicking sound to indicate that it's working.

Both the Front and Rear turn signal lights seem to be operateing correctly [they light up and blink] (just no click click sound)

If it's left out on a hot parking lot for awhile the turn signal will again start making the clicking sound (until it rains again anyway)
I tried to see if turning the car off for a few minutes and on would do the trick as well but it seems to only work after "drying out" I'm not really sure though maybe something else is happening.

Is there something I can do? I'm worried something major is going to short out.

Nothing major from what I discovered. I would just like to start with the fact it took me about 7 months to get an answer. FINALLY I surfed the mechanic blog sites and started to find helpful infomation. turns out, chevy started making crappy cars in 2007. I also have 2007 Cobalt Lt and my speakers did the same thing. turns out they speakers are sealed crappy and when it rains the speakers stop working. But on a dry pretty day they work. i went to best buy and bought two new speakers and sealed them properly, presto! This car is amazing for me, and a complete upgrade from my prior car it just has sooo many hikups. Good luck!

Good to know we are not the only ones with the speaker and blinker problems. I thought I was crazy...but same scenario...rainy days it's on the fritz.

I have the same issue. Just as Robert mentioned i also did some research along with a father-in-law mechanic and came upon the same reason. It will get worse if you don't fix it. It started at about the same mileage (65000), I’m now at 117000, and it won't work on most days rain or shine.

Car Brakes: How Do You Know When to Change Them?

By Zach Bowman For those who suffer a daily commute through heavy traffic, your vehicle's braking system can bring thousands of pounds of metal, plastic and empty Starbucks cups to a stop hundreds of times before you get to work. It goes without saying that these pieces wear out, but they do so slowly, meaning you may not notice they need attention until ...
