Jerry: How ironic!!!! I am getting mine fixed today after troubleshooting for days!!!! You won't believe this, but it IS NOT your transmission. I replaced the battery and the battery idiot light still stayed on. One word: ALTERNATOR!!! After I replaced the battery, which I last purchased in August 2011, it became obvious it was the alternator. Advance Auto sure was helpful (for free) running the diagnostics on it for me. If you have an automatic and put it over into manual your light will go out, which is how my wonderful fiance put it all together (it does help that is is an electronics engineer - smile). Hope this helps. Need more info, let me know.
