Question: Mazda 6 heater not working properly

The heater in my Mazda 6 only blows hot air when the accelerator is depressed. When I take my foot off the gas at a stoplight, the air becomes cool within 5 to 10 seconds. It gets hot again within the same amount of time once I accelerate again. If I put the car in neutral and give it gas while sitting still the air blowing out stays hot. Any thoughts?

Try checking your RADIATOR for the proper fluid level. When you drive, the water pump is circulating the water UP TO to heater core. When stopped, it isn't pumping the water high enough to enter into the core. If unchecked, it could burn up your engine due to lack of water. Some mechanics claim that the NEWER raditor fluid seems to evaporate...strange.

Thermostat stuck open more than likely. Or not enough coolant/water in radiator/

But over the years, towering powerhouses like the Honda Accord grew larger and their engines grew stronger while the Mazda 6 remained at 2003 standards. ...
