Question: anyone with problems with swaybar/stabilizing bushing?

loud thumping sound on rough roads

All the time. I have taken it in several times and nobody has been able to tell me what it is. I was told at one point it was the tires. New tires did nothing to improve the noise. Mine also does it occasionally when accelerating or decelerating or on corners.

A mechanic told me that the design used in the swaybar/stab bushing is poor he drew a little picture regarding physics and all this fun stuff... he said it was designed to make him rich >_<. He's got a funny sense of humor.

I'm not a pro but it feels like it's just not as rugged as some of the other "econo" cars I've driven.
